Like Music? Your Prepaid Data Plan Just Got Better

Posted by Terry Richards on

As of recently, the major prepaid carriers have done users a huge favor: three of the carriers, available on shopcelldeals.com, have included unlimited music streaming in their data services.  Gone are the days where you have to eat up precious data in order to jam out on Pandora at home or at the office – whether you use Virgin Mobile, Boost or MetroPCS, unlimited music streaming from your favorite source is most likely included on an unlimited basis in your data plan.

Virgin Mobile

Pandora, iHeartRadio, Slacker, 8tracks and Milk Music

Boost Mobile

Pandora, iHeartRadio, Slacker, 8tracks and Milk Music

MetroPCS

Over 30 services, including Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Google Music, Rhapsody, Slacker and SiriusXM

Virgin Mobile

The major music streaming outlets available on Virgin include Pandora, iHeartRadio, Slacker, 8tracks and Milk Music.  There really is nothing current customers need to do to start enjoying this perk, as most current Virgin Mobile customers who subscribe to a data plan already have access to Data-Free Music.

For customers to start listening, they just need to download one (or more) of the streaming music partners' apps mentioned above. If a customer’s plan doesn't include Data-Free Music, they simply need to enroll in one of Virgin Mobile’s new $30, $40 or $50 Unlimited plans. It’s fairly easy to change plans and it’s likely that the move would pay off for most customers in the long run. Of course, Data-Free Music covers Virgin Mobile's data charges, but not any fees charged directly by the streaming music providers.  If you pay for a Pandora or Spotify premium subscription, you’ll still pay for that.

Boost Mobile

The big music streaming partners are also available unlimited on Boost: Pandora, iHeartRadio, Slacker, 8tracks and Milk Music. Unlimited music streaming will be available to all Boost customers, and can be combined with Boost’s all-new Growing Data Feature.  (Growing Data rewards customers with extra monthly data for making on-time payments, growing to an eventual 3GB of bonus high-speed data each month.)

MetroPCS

If you’re on the $40, $50 or $60 MetroPCS plans, you’ll also get Music Unlimited added to your service.  Music Unlimited allows customers to stream as much music as they like each month from partnering providers, without it counting against their data plan.

MetroPCS Customers have access to bottomless streaming from over 30 services, including Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Google Music, Rhapsody, Slacker and SiriusXM. As with the others, keep in mind that, while MetroPCS will allow you to stream as much music as you like, your plan doesn’t cover any subscription fees charged by partnering digital music services.

Overall

Now the prepaid carriers have given customers even more incentive to sign up for their affordable data plans.  Music screaming is a huge part of mobile usage; whether it’s at home, the gym, in the car, at work or hanging out with friends.  Now prepaid customers can relax while streaming, knowing it won’t count against their data and they can use the big streaming partners as much as they like.
